Virginio Castillo was born on October 22, 1942, in Nuevo Leon, Mexico to parents Felipe and Refugia Castillo. Virginio was called home to be with our Lord on August 27, 2023, at the age of 80. Virginio was preceded in death by his father, Felipe G. Castillo, and mother, Refugia R. Castillo; brothers, Jesus Castillo and Julian Castillo; sisters, Elida Castillo and Margarita Castillo.
Virginio is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Katherine Cavazos (Gabriel), Michelle Castillo and Lisa Roque (Adrian); son Christopher Castillo (Cesha); sisters Carmen Ochoa and Hortensia Cantu; grandchildren Aaron, Adrian, Gabriel, Elysia, Caleb, Aria, Kason, Mikayla, Aidan and Elijah.
His love for music began at the age of 15 when he started performing with his uncle Baldita in a family band. Virginio and his conjunto Los Trovadores spent most of his life entertaining many. He was a devout Catholic and performed with the church choir on Sundays. Virginio reached the rank of Sergeant in the United States Army. He was also a loving father, who enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren.
