Rudy Vasquez Gomez was called to the Lord on January 16, 2024, at the age of 65 after a short battle with liver cancer. Rudy passed away peacefully at his home in San Antonio surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife Ermelinda Bejaran, sons: Rudy Gomez Junior, Jerry
Bejaran, Jose Bejaran and Jaime Bejaran, daughters: Genevieve Gomez, Brenda Martinez, Ruby Luna, Roxanne Gomez, Priscilla Maldonado, Christina Bejaran, and Veronica Trevino, brother Robert Gomez, and sisters: Irene Gonzales, Estella Gomez Herrera, Norma Jean Ledezma and Sylvia Ledezma Goodman. Rudy's family includes 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Rudy was preceded in death by his mother Aurora Vasquez Gomez, father Pete T. Gomez, brothers Andrew Gomez and Enrique V. Gomez. Rudy was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 27, 1958. He attended South San Antonio High School. He enjoyed family gatherings, barbecues, the beach and public music venues, but mostly listening to oldies and Tejano music at home with family and friends. He loved the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys, and visiting family and friends all over town including Lytle, Natalia and Devine.

Services will be held at San Antonio Mortuary, 703 Palo Alto Road, San Antonio, Texas 78211 on Thursday January 25, 2024. Visitation is from 4pm-8pm Thursday with a Rosary that begins at 6:30 pm that evening. Friday January 26, 2024 there will be another visitation from 9am-11am at San Antonio Mortuary. Following this, Rudy requested one last drive past his Mother's house enroute to an 11:30am Mass at St. Leonard's Catholic Church, 8510 South Zarzamora Street, San Antonio, Texas 78224. Interment will begin at 1pm at San Jose Burial Park, 8235 Mission Road, SanAntonio, Texas 78214.
