Obituary

Roland P. Garcia, a devoted family man, passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 52. Born on June 5, 1971 in San Antonio, Texas, to  Elodia and Santos Garcia, Roland was a true Texas native. He was a true devoted fan of his favorite Dallas Cowboys and Spurs through and through. Predeceased by his father, Santos, brother Fred, sisters Isabel and Leticia, Roland's legacy is carried on by his loving family; his cherished daughters, Cheyanne and Emma; his siblings, Olivia, Marylou, Norma, Carlos, Minerva, Josie, Janie, Joe, Sylvia, Victor and Diane and special friend Liz. Roland's early life in San Antonio, alongside his siblings was filled with the joys of Texas simplicity and the bonds of close-knit family ties. He graduated from Burbank High School in 1989. Daughters Cheyanne and Emma, were the apples of his eye, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Roland was employed with Old Dominian Freight Line. He cherished his friends at Old Dominian Freight Line and considered them his second family. He often shared happy and funny stories with us about his friends. Roland will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His spirit, characterized by generosity, warmth, and a genuine love for life, will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched.

Viewing for Roland will be held on January 18, 2024 from 2:00-4:00p.m. A prayer service to honor the life of Roland will follow from 4:00-5:00p.m. by Bishop Brendon E. Powell at the San Antonio Mortuary located at 703 Palo Alto Road, San Antonio, Texas. There will be no procession. Roland will be laid to rest at San Fernando Cemetery III on Friday morning, January 19, 2024 at 10:00a.m. where everyone will meet with a prayer service by Bishop Powell.

A reception will be held after the burial service at the 1 st Restoration Christian Church, 1233 W. Winnipeg, San Antonio, TX, where friends and family can share memories and celebrate Roland's life.
