Our family announces the passing of Rogelio C. Barrientos Sr., affectionately known by his family as "Tata" on the 21st of December 2022. His passing was sudden and came without warning. Nevertheless, the Barrientos Family will live on, celebrating his life. Tata was 84 years old, and was born in Delores, TX on May 27, 1938. His upbringing took place in Laredo, TX and on the Southside of San Antonio.

He proudly served in the United States Navy as a boiler technician and electrician apprentice aboard the naval destroyer USS Stoddard (DD-566). His trade was as an electrician, employed with HB Zachry in Deer Park,TX. Tata was a hard-working man who always went out of his way to provide for his family. His children and grandchildren will always remember his quick sense of humor and his willingness to give anyone the shirt off of his back or even his last dollar, as well as his lack of filter. He was passionate about classic cars and trucks, the Dallas Cowboys, and comedy movies. In his spare time, he was an aspiring carpenter and auto mechanic.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elsa C. Barrientos of San Antonio; his son Rogelio C. Barrientos Jr. of San Antonio; his daughter, Claudia V. Barrientos of San Antonio; his brother, Gilbert Barrientos of San Antonio; his daughter-in-law Theresa Barrientos of San Antonio; his son-in-law, Jeff Sanford of San Antonio; 5 granddaughters: Lily, Samantha, & Alaina Hernandez, Arianna Barrientos, and Keilynne Sanford; 2 grandsons Kolbie (preceded in death) and Kaleb Sanford of Round Rock, TX; 3 great grandsons: Nick and Jaiden Chairez of Lancaster, CA, Kayson Cardenas of San Antonio, and 1 great granddaughter, Aubrielle Chairez of Lancaster, CA.

He is preceded in death by his parents Belia Linares and Jose Cecilio Barrientos of Laredo, TX and his sisters Olga Zamora of San Antonio, and Lenor Muñoz of Laredo, TX.
