Mary Ann
Torres
Jun 10, 1954 — Jul 23, 2020
San Antonio
Mary Ann Torres, at the age of 66, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 23, 2020. Her heart
was her grandchildren and was very involved with them. Rain, sunshine, extreme heat or cold couldn't keep her
away from their birthday parties, football, baseball, basketball or volley ball games, track competition,
cheerleading, or choir and band performances. Mary Ann loved the outdoors. She enjoyed her yearly 4th of July
beach vacations, camping at the lake, and bar–be-ques. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving where she loved
to cook up a feast and save the wishbone from every juicy turkey she baked. She was known for making huge
pots of beans and rice for all the parties and she never forgot to put weinies in the beans (LOL). Most importantly,
she enjoyed spending time with family. Mary Ann loved to cook and would always invite her family over for
chicken mole, menudo, fideo, carne guisada, (which were her favorite meals) and only the lucky ones got to eat
her juicy turkey!
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father, Marcelino Salazar, sister Sylvia Martinez, brother Leroy Gonzales;
grandson JR Pardo and granddaughter Natalie Obaya. She is survived by her mother Emma Gonzales; husband
Jesus Alvarado Torres; children Danny Campos (Tina), Robert James (Cristy), Melinda Morris, Belen Campos,
Melissa Escobedo (Antonio), and Randy Obaya; siblings Manuel Gonzales, Margie Vega (Ralph), Emma Villarreal
(Joe), Olivia Espinosa, Virginia Gonzales, and Emma Lee Sigeroa; grandchildren Ethan and Juanita Campos,
Jacob, Christian, Alyssa and Damiana Escobedo, Emma Obaya, Sesailee and Michael Morris, Valerie Pardo,
Arthur, and Abigail Molina, Elysia and Jonathan James; and great-grandchildren.
