Obituary

The world stood still, silent, and cold for our beloved mother, Maria Estella Martinez on July 23rd, 2020. She gained her beautiful wings at the age of 74, to go home and rest with our God Almighty Savior. Maria was born in a small town, called D'Hanis, TX and was an amazing mother to 13 biological children and 1 adoptive grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband Martin Martinez Sr., father and mother Norn=berto & Paula Chapa, brother Edward Chapa, sister Jane Chapa, daughter Sylvia Soto, and son Euginio Martinez. She is survived by daughters: Linda, Rachel, Maria, Guadalupe, Blanca, San Juana, Crystal, Ruby son: Martin Jr., Roberto, Steven, Sammy, sisters; Elida, Irene, Alice, Terry, Dolores, 78 grandchildren & numerous great grandchildren.

Our mother was the true definition of strong, bold, mighty, and fierce. She never let her illness or anything else hold her back from doing what she would set for. She loved to spend time crafting, making holiday baskets for every occasion, sewing, playing loteria (and always winning, lol), making delicious food and dishes, gardening, and especially spending time with family.

Maria spent her life alongside her granddaughters whole life, Ruby Martinez, whom was her most valuable pride and joy. She raised me like one of her own biological children and had an amazing admiration like one of her own biological children and had an amazing admiration for me, as I did for her. She also helped me raised one of her great granddaughters, Alazaye, for over 6 years, and too had an enormous heart for her as she did for Ruby. Our mother was loved, admired, and cared for by many relatives and friends. Her love & presence will be dearly missed by each and every one of us, but God called her home finally to rest, something she was always against. We let her be free to rest & fly high with every angel up in the sky.

Our beloved mother showed us  everything we know, expect how to live without her. Until we all unite again, my dear and lovely mother, we will cherish your love and memories in our hearts forever. So rest in peace and at ease, for we will meet again in the land of peace with our Great Lord Savior.
