Joe P. Herrera was called home to be with our Lord on April 30, 2017 at the age of 67. He was a great man of comfort, honor, respect and strength. He was an avid Rancher and Fisherman who always put his family first. "Joe P" was an inspiring husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa, son and friend. A man of many talents, he lived life to the fullest through truth, integrity and loyalty. Although he is no longer with us, his legacy will continue at the Poca Tierra Ranch. He is preceded in death by his parents Ascencion & Petra Perez Herrera, grandparents Rodolfo & Margarita Herrera, Mateo Perez & Guadalupe V. Perez, son Jesus Herrera, brothers Ascencion Jr. Herrera & Mike Herrera, sisters Josie, Rosa, Margarita & Eva. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Petra G. Herrera, sons Joe Herrera Jr. (Darleen), Ricky Herrera (Laura), Chon Herrera & Raymond Herrera; daughters Sandra A. Mujica (Joe), Joann H. Gonzalez (Tony), Debbie Herrera, Angie Gutierrez, Becky Gonzales (Mike) & Melany Martinez, brother Domingo Martinez, sister Lupe, Diana, Beatrice & Adela, seven grandchildren Justin Mujica, Emily Mujica, Denise Mujica, Jeremy Herrera, Jacob Herrera, Madalyn Herrera & Gavin Gonzales. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church from 5:00-9:00PM. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00PM.
