Jesse A. Betancourt Jr. ,

Born April 11th, 1934 , was called home to the Lord on January 4th, 2026 at age 91 .

A San Antonio, Texas native, outdoorsman, and keeper of the faith—Jesse Jr. was a mentor to the local youth of the city, from coaching fast-pitch baseball, leading as a scoutmaster and Catholic youth group counselor, amongst many other pursuits. Known as "Mr. B." to those he mentored, his passion involved guiding troubled teens toward organizations and to a more promised future through sports and other various activities.

As a young adult Jesse Jr. attended Fox Tech High school, played minor league baseball alongside his brother Ralph, father Jesse Betancourt Sr. and also Cito Gaston, who would later go on to play for the major leagues and manage the Toronto Blue Jays. As an adult up until his 60's, Jesse Jr. played softball for a team known as the Old Timers' Fast Pitch Softball.

During his 30+ years in the workforce, Jesse Jr. worked the printing press for the San Antonio State Chest Hospital.

Jesse Jr. also had a tender heart for animals and would care for local strays when the situation would arise, especially cats. Jesse Jr. was always willing to help those in need, no matter the circumstance, no matter who they were. Above all Jesse Jr. loved his family.

Siblings Gloria Betancourt, Lily Serna, Ralph Betancourt, Edward Betancourt, Joe Betancourt, Rebecca Betancourt, Robert  Sifuentes , sister Velia Quinones and his loving wife Susie T. Betancourt.

Jesse A. Betancourt Jr. is survived by children Jo Ann Betancourt and husband Armando Rocha, Rachel Almendarez & husband Ruben Olivares,Jesse T. Betancourt & wife Gina M. Betancourt, Yvonne B. Ozuniga & husband Mario Ozuniga

; grandchildren Monique Betancourt, Melissa Olivares, Jesse Ray Betancourt IV, Nicole M. Betancourt, Megan S. Ozuniga, Ryan M. Ozuniga, Suzanne Olivares, Jewel M. Betancourt, Faith M. Betancourt, Noah J. Ozuniga and Damon M. Ozuniga;

great  grandchildren Jerry Aguilar, Mykaela A. Mendoza, Melinda A. Mendoza, Malorie A. Mendoza, Miranda A. Mendoza, Azaiah S. Lopez, Avery C. Lopez, Mckenzie L. Cadena, Autumn S. Bruno, Harmonie L. Bruno, Skylar R. Cadena, Aubrey J. Losoya, Anaya J. Losoya, John A. Losoya, Julius A. Losoya, Mateo S. Rangel, Adonis A. Rios-Saiz; and

great great grandchild Maliyah R. Garcia; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Services for Jesse A. Betancourt Jr. will be held Friday January 23rd, 2026 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church 10am rosary followed by mass at 10:30am,

proceeding burial at San Fernando # 2.
