Obituary

Esther Rivera Zimdahl passed peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, May 21, 2022 surrounded by her children. Born 12/12/1932 in Oak Creek, WI. She moved with her family to San Antonio, TX where she grew up. She met and married Earl John Zimdahl in January 1956. They moved to WI where they farmed and raised six children. In 1987 they returned to TX where they lived in the home her father built and cared for her aging parents.
Esther was a wife, mother, and teacher. She lovingly cooked, baked, sewed, gardened, canned, and froze food to meet her families needs. She served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a friend to everyone she met. Offering shelter, food and care to anyone in need. One of her greatest joys was time with family which resulted in holidays with a house full of families.
Esther, also known as a Nini, loved to laugh, dance, and enjoy all the little things in life.  She had a great love for things of nature.  She had unending compassion for all of God's creatures.  She used her great love to teach it.  She could find joy in life's simplest moments and passed on her happy heart. Her childrens friends got to be recipients of this generous love as well.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband Earl, sisters Rachel, Elizabeth, Ruth, Maggie and brothers Bobby, Lee. She is survived by her sister Grace, brother Daniel, and six children Earl Jr (Melinda), Edward, Esther, Elizabeth (Charles), Elroy (Kim), and Thomas (Joyce). She was furthered blessed with 19 Grandchildren and 20 Great-grandchildren (with another one on the way) and numerous nieces and nephews.
