Aristeo was born January 16, 1948 to Ralph and Refugia L. Benavides in Cotulla, Texas. As a young adult, Eddie lived his life in the fast lane, as his life experiences made Eddie a good husband, father, family provider, caring grandfather, uncle and brother in law to those who were fortunate to have him in their life. He was a #1 Dallas Cowboy fan, as well being a hardcore Casino player but still made time to enjoy taking his family on vacations. Eddie also liked listening to Tex-Mex music and of course usual Oldies. He was often nostalgic and spoke of his Aunt Celia and Aunt Vicky getting down to Rock and Rollin their times. Eddie worked hard at keeping his lawn nice and green as he had quite a green thumb. His car was always in tip top shape, but that was always a problem for the rest of us due to him not wanting any dirty feet on his beloved car floor. In the last months of his life, Eddie welcomed the Lord into his heart. He often spoke of how proud it made him feel to accept both the Lord and death as a part of the journey of life and returning home to the Lord. Eddie would like to give thanks to David and Zenaida Alvila, sonny and Nora Galvan and Ana and Rene Luna for the great support given to Rosie. Thanks also to his son and family, sister in law and Godson.
He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Benavides, his parents Ralph Benavides Refugia Lara Benavides and Brother Ralph Lara Benavides.
Eddie will be greatly missed by his loving family, his wife Rosie Benavides, five sons, five brothers, one sister, seventeen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday October 9th from 4:30PM to 8:30PM. with a prayer service to be held at 7:00PM. Wednesday October 10th visitation will be held from 8:00AM to 11:00AM. Interment to follow at 11:30AM at San Jose Burial Park Cemetery.
