Obituary

Amy Diane Arnold (Campbell) was born on May 13th, 1942.

Amy went home to be with the Lord on Monday December 29th, 2025, at 11:23 AM.  She is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus, whom she loved so much.  Amy passed away in her home in Texas, surrounded by her family. She was 83 years old.

She was born in Berwick, Pennsylvania, a town that would always stay close to her heart. Amy spent her childhood in Berwick, and she was raised by her grandparents. She loved to explore her Nana's attic, and she played on the long front porch. She would often reminisce about her favorite things, like tea berry ice cream, raisin cookies from Market Street and Tasty Cakes. In the winter, Amy and her sister would go ice skating on Uncle Art's Pond, behind their house.

It was an Ethiopian lady who first introduced Amy to Jesus. Also, it was her sweet Grandmother (Nana Campbell) that brought her to Bower Memorial United Methodist Church. Her Grandmother made sure Amy was in church every Sunday. Amy was a shy child who loved to read. She would devour books.  If you gave Amy a book on Tuesday night, by Wednesday morning she would give the book back to you with a smile and a thanks. She was an avid reader.

Amy graduated in 1960 from Berwick High School. She was a Berwick Bulldog football cheerleader. In later years, she would always love football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles. After high school, she traveled out to California with her dad and enrolled at Pepperdine University. She majored in English Literature.

On one regular university day, Amy pulled up in her blue Austin Healy Sprite. She parked it and went into class. After class, when she returned to her cute little car, there was another blue Austin Healy Sprite parked right next to hers.  There was a short red-headed gentleman standing by his own car.  He had parked next to Amy's car because it was the same kind of car. Robert and Amy both met and fell in love. The two cars, parked side by side, started a long romance that would last for 62 years.

Amy Diane Campbell married Robert Barrie Arnold on April 8th,1963. Over the years, they lived in Guam, Palmdale, Lancaster, and the little mountain town of Arnold, California. They moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2021. Highlights of their marriage would be two years on Guam and a visit to the Holy Lands in 2016.

Amy was a faithful homemaker with three kids. She loved her family. As the kids got older, Amy worked at Mercer Caverns for many years as a tour guide. In addition to being involved in her local church, she was a member of the Garden Club and the Red Hat Society.

Amy Arnold is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Arnold Sr, her younger sister Virginia Leigh Campbell, her Aunt Christine Wright, her many cousins, and three living children. They are her son Robert Barrie Arnold Jr, daughter Leigh Anne Brodwolf, and daughter Debra Diane Gipson. Amy also leaves behind nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Amy had a fantastic sense of humor and gifted us all with her laughter. Her legacy of faith and commitment to her Lord and Savior lives on in her children and grandchildren. Amy Diane Arnold will be missed by all.
